The course, which is used daily for Royal Marines recruit and officer training, goes across the rough moorland and woodland of Woodbury Common near Lympstone and features tunnels, pipes, wading pools and an underwater culvert called the sheep dip, one of the toughest obstacles of the lot that even the Royal Marines have nightmares about.
